Google AdSense

Recently in class we discussed the importance of the new way of marketing known as Google AdSense. AdSense is a form of marketing where someone can sign up a URL to host advertisements on it that pertain to the content of the URL. So say someone has a website that is about surfing, Google will crawl through the internet and place adds on the URL for say a surf board company, which will hopeful be hit as someone reads through the site. The idea is that after someone clicks on the advertisement a small portion of profit will go to the person whose URL is hosting the advertisement. Overall I find that this concept of marketing is beneficial to both the company who is trying to market over the internet, and sites that provides the hosting for the ad. The idea if someone were to search sailing on Google, open up a random page on the search results, and have an ad for foul weather gear waiting in the content of a website that previously had no ad, but does now because Google added one for a company is very interesting. I think that AdSense is another one of the many ways that Google is the front runner for the most innovative company on the planet.
